HUMANITARIAN AND COMPASSIONATE CASES
Section 25 of IRPA (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act) permits individuals to apply for permanent residence in Canada, based on their special circumstances. In case the delegate of the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration of Canada is of the opinion that such special circumstances exist, the individual will be granted an exemption from visa requirements and allowed to remain in Canada as a permanent resident.
The requirements of passing medical, criminal and background clearances are extended to the applicants in the humanitarian and compassionate class as well as to the applicants in other categories.
In most cases, the applicant's establishment in Canada, his or her family ties to Canada citizens or permanent residents, interests of a child will be taken into consideration as well as the degree of hardships which the applicant should experience in case he faces deportation from Canada.
We have successfully handled hundreds of cases of applications for humanitarian and compassionate consideration and will be glad to be
of help for you. Please contact our office for more information on this category and pre-assessment of your situation requiring humanitarian and compassionate approach.
