TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA ( VISITOR'S VISA)

In most cases, visitor's to Canada, who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are required to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa
( also known as Visitor's visa) prior to seeking admission to Canada.

Citizens of certain countries are exempt from such requirement to obtain a TRV prior to their arrival in Canada.

Holders of TRP are in most cases, not allowed to engage into employment or studies in Canada.

Temporary Resident's Visa can be issued on either single entry basis or a multiple-entry basis. In case an Applicant is seeking a multiple-entry visa to Canada, he or she must substantiate such need. Multiple entry visas to Canada might be issued with the validity of up to 5 years, the decision of the length of the validity will be at the discretion of the issuing immigration official.

Individuals in possession of TRV (temporary resident visa) will seek admission to Canada at the port of entry. Immigration officials at the Canadian borders, whether airports, ports or land, will usually determine the length of your stay in Canada and will stamp your passport with the admission stamp.  The maxim stay in the country a visitor might receive at the port of entry is 6 ( six) months. In case an individual is willing to extend his stay in Canada, an application for the extension of the visa must be submitted to the Canadian Immigration Center in Vegreville, Alberta prior to the expiration of the visa.
