STUDENT PERMIT

Most foreign students are required to obtain a Student Permit prior to arrival to Canada and engaging into a course of studies with Canadian educational institutions. At the time of applying for Student Permit individuals are required to provide information about the educational institution they intend to study at, letter of enrollment to the program. They are required to demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover the tuition fee and living expenses for the period of their study in Canada.

It is important to note, that the duration of the intended study in Canada will determine the type of visa you will be issued in case of favorable decision. In case you intend to study in Canada for the period less then 6 months, you will seek a Temporary Resident's Visa to Canada allowing you to study in chosen educational institution. In case you intend to study in Canada for a period longer then 6 months, you may seek Study Permit, which, in case issued, may be extended in Canada by way of applying for the extension of Study Permit through the Canadian Immigration Centre in Vegreville, Alberta.

Each student will be required to undergo medical examination prior to having their Student Permit issued.

There are certain educational institutions in Canada, the study at which allows foreign students to apply for Work Permit 6 months after the commencement of their studies.
